Educational Research

Educational research drives best teaching practices. It has been determined that there are five basic skill sets necessary to master reading.  Beyond oral vocabulary development; phonemic awareness, phonics, sight word vocabulary development, reading fluency and comprehension skills round out the skill set.  There are two levels of dyslexia which can impede reading ability in learning disabled students.  Surface dyslexia is the inability to decode the written word, and deep dyslexia is the inability to comprehend the written word.  There are several good reading instructional programs available to address dyslexia at either of these levels.

These are some good educational research sites I have found.  If you know of others to add to this list, please let me know.
